After teasing images of the highly-anticipated electric sedan, BMW has unveiled all the details on the latest model in their seven series. The BMW i7 EV will offer over 300 miles of range and a traditional design that won’t surprise longtime fans. In particular, the shortened grille should be less polarizing to drivers than some of the offer EVs BMW has on offer.

It took BMW almost a decade to produce electric cars, but they have found success with both the i8 and the i4 Grande Coupe. By its looks, the BMW i7 EV is shaping up to be the best offering yet. The vehicle will have a large 101.7 kWh battery pack using the German automaker’s electric powertrain technology. That’s enough for 625 km of WLTP range and an estimated EPA range of up to 310 miles.

The drivetrain consists of two electric motors with a total system output of 400 kW/544 hp. With DC fast charging, top rates can reach 195 kW. A 10-minute quick charge increases the range up to 170 kilometers as well.

BMW luxury inside and out i7

Given that this is a high-end luxury vehicle, the BMW i7 EV brings top-of-the-line features on the inside. Namely, a stunning 32:9 ultrawide Amazon fire TV screen extends down from the roof, and reclining “lounge chairs” are ready for the backseat riders to take in the whole theater experience. Even the door handle controls have a touch-screen display.

Other features include BMW iDrive to offer a multi-sensory vehicle experience. There’s also a curved display with Manoeuvre Assistant to assist the driver with automated parking. The leather and cashmere wool interior trim should enhance comfort as well.

BMW didn’t release any pricing details for the new i7, but it’s bound to be expensive. We expect to hear more information closer to the EV’s launch in November 2022.
