Propella Electric Bikes has officially launched their brand new ‘Mini’ e-bike. The Propella Mini is a lightweight single-speed electric bike that takes their minimalist design approach one step further.

Propella is known for their e-bikes’ lightweight designs, and that continues here with the Mini.

Sizing up the Propella Mini

The Propella Mini weighs only 33 pounds and is supposedly ideal for riders between 5’2” and 5’10”.

Riding on smaller 20-inch wheels, as compared to the 28-inch wheels on the SS and 7S, the Mini measures 59-inches in length. This is almost an entire foot shorter than Propella’s other e-bikes.

The smaller wheels paired with a 400-peak power motor help this small e-bike generate the torque needed to handle steep 10% incline hills.

Do note that this e-bike isn’t built with suspension forks; you will need to be careful when traversing rough terrain.

The Mini comes equipped with a removable 250 watt-hour battery pack, which should equate to 20 to 35 miles of pedal-assist range.

The battery pack itself is made up of Samsung Li-ion cells and weighs around 3.5 pounds. It takes around 2.5 hours to charge up, which may leave you wanting to buy an extra battery pack.

An additional battery pack will set you back $249.

The Propella Mini features a 250-watt (400-watt peak) rear geared hub motor from Bafang. This allows the bike to reach a top speed of 18 miles per hour.

What this means is that the bike is a “Class 1 electric bicycle” that will only provide pedal assistance up to 18 miles per hour. As a result, the Propella Mini will be street-legal across the majority of the United States.

On top of all this, the Mini features an LCD display that indicates the battery level, speed, odometer, and time—as well as the 5-level pedal-assist.

Final thoughts

If you are a rider between 5’2” and 5’10”, the Propella Mini is one of the market’s most compelling options. It’s as light as most office chairs and provides enough power and torque to climb steeper inclines.

The Mini is regularly priced at $999, but you can get it for $100 off today on their website. This likely won’t last for long!
