GM announced today its next electric vehicle: the GMC Sierra Denali. This will be their second electric vehicle to release following the soon-to-be-released GMC Hummer EV. GM’s new Ulitum platform will power both.

Take a look at the teaser trailer for the new electric pickup below.

“Sierra Denali holds tremendous equity for GMC and our customers. We have an opportunity to evolve Sierra’s capabilities and technologies, by transitioning to an all-electric propulsion while also elevating the luxurious design and comfort associated with Denali.”

-Duncan Aldred, GMC vice president

We don’t yet know when the all-electric Sierra will come to market, but we can expect a full reveal next year.

This is an exciting alternative to the Hummer EV in that it’s not a super luxury truck with a hefty price tag. Instead, the Sierra Denali will appeal more to the average consumer and thus be competing with the Ford F-150, the Tesla Cybertruck, and the Rivian R1T.
